Direct Energy is proud to give back to an outstanding community organization this holiday season

LLOYDMINSTER, AB – December 17, 2019 – Direct Energy and Direct Energy Regulated Services, Alberta’s leading energy provider, were proud to announce a $3,500 donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters Lloydminster this past weekend. The cheque was presented at Direct Energy’s holiday kick-off event at Cinema 6 on Saturday, December 14, 2019, where the entire community, including special guests from Big Brothers Big Sisters, were invited to enjoy a free holiday movie with family and friends.

Direct Energy and Direct Energy Regulated Services are committed to directing energy to what matters, especially children facing adversity. This donation will directly support mentorship programs that provide children and youth with strong and enduring relationships.

“Direct Energy is passionate about partnering with organizations that share our dedication to strengthening the local community by fostering positive relationships and providing resources to those who need it most,” said Tanis Kozak, Vice President and General Manager, Direct Energy. “We are proud to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters to help create positive futures in Lloydminster.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters Lloydminster changes the lives of at-risk youth who face adversities such as mental health issues, family violence, identity issues, or poor living conditions by creating individual and group mentoring relationships. The mentorship programs connect children and youth with mentors who advise, challenge and act as their champions, all within a safe, non-judgmental environment. With the proper guidance and support, these mentorships allow children and youth to build their confidence and achieve brighter futures.
